BikePortland.org reports that the Federal Highway Administration will now let states and other local jurisdictions use
green to mark on-street bike facilities (like bike lanes and bike boxes). It's 'interim' approval because the change hasn't been incorporated into the official FHWA's
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), but it'll likely get incorporated in the next official update.
I think it would be great to see Bellingham start to implement this idea. Does anyone know if the City has been thinking about it?
